PROJECT // VALLEY GREEN
Brand Identity - Social Media Assets - Kit Design - Merchandise Design
Valley Green is a football club that i currently coach at and my son plays for. The club was formed in 1971 in Witham, Essex and were a team i used to play against when i was young.
It was apparent upon joining, that the brand and look of the club hasn’t changed much since it was founded and whilst looking at documents, kits etc recently, i thought it would be great fun to try and give the basics a facelift.
One thing i wanted to bring in, was an away kit and something to represent the higher level academy/JPL part of the club, something that has only recently been needed.
The club being based in Witham, and playing on the Rickstones recreational fields, research showed that the grounds was a big Knights Templar area in the 1100’s and i felt it would be great to bring a cross in to the branding as a nod to the history of where we now play football.
The colour palette included the current Green and gold, but now also includes a deep red for an away strip (due to being opposite on the colour wheel) and a cool Mint Green as part of the Academy/JPL branding to help modernise and move the club forward with other competitors.
A new ornamental pattern based on feathers and coats of arms from the Witham family crest was included to add depth to print and digital graphics.
